Seven Middle and High school students engaged in the 11th Annual Stream Scholars Summer Camp. Scholars traveled to the capital where they received a tour of the capital building and sat down with West Virginia Congresswoman Capito.  Scholars camped at Westmoreland State Park, Virginia, where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay, and canoed on the Shenandoah River with For Love of Children (FLOC) guides were students conducted stream assessments and sampled for benthic macroinvertebrates.

A highlight of Stream Scholars camping is always preparation and eating the "hobo stew."

Friday- An early morning sunrise observation started the day. After packing up camp we traveled to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to meet staff members from For Love Of Children (FLOC) for a canoe trip on the Shenandoah River. Scholars were able to conduct stream monitor practices of temperature, pH, and benthic macroinvertebrates.
